Ceremonial Corps

Washington Township Fire Department’s Ceremonial Corps consist of the Honor Guard and Pipes and Drums.

Honor Guard

The Washington Township Honor Guard was established in 1995 to represent the Washington Township Fire Department, firefighters, officers, and their families at fire department funerals, parades, dedications, flag ceremonies, and other ceremonial occasions. The Honor Guard has fulfilled many local, state, and national requests for their services.

It is the intent of the honor guard to assist all officers and their families during their time of emotional duress from the loss or debilitating injury of their loved ones.

Honor Guard members practice, train and attend events off-duty.

Pipes and Drum Corp

In late 1998, several firefighters from local departments, supported by donations from various agencies, organized a local pipes and drums corps. They wanted to bring a tradition, long associated with police and fire departments, to the Central Ohio area. The pipes and drum corps symbolizes pride, hard work and dedication. Over the years, the corps has grown steadily in its number of members and currently performs several times per year at police and fire line-of-duty-death funerals, formal department functions, memorial services, parades, community fundraisers, and festivals including the St. Patrick’s Day events and Dublin Irish festival. Members perform off-duty and often with other local Pipes and Drums organizations like the Shamrock Club Pipes and Drums.
