The Citizen Fire Academy (CFA) is a school like no other– no homework, no tests, no hall passes, and super cool teachers: Firefighter/Paramedics. They’ll show you some of the tools and techniques they use as emergency responders and you’ll get the chance to climb, cut, smash, carry, crawl, hang suspended, pull, and push your way through several firefighting, EMS, and rescue techniques. There is no pressure to do all the activities offered in the class. However, the friendly camaraderie that develops between class members usually encourages most to give it a try. There is some lecture, but most class time is dedicated to demonstrations, tours, “gearing up,” and getting firsthand experience (if you choose). Washington Township/City of Dublin Residents preferred. If you are interested in participating in the 2025 class, please fill out the application below. 2025 class information:

This training is not designed to certify citizens as firefighters or to perform firefighting services. All persons seeking employment with Washington Township as a firefighter are not eligible for the CFA. I certify that all of the information furnished in this application is true and complete to the best of my knowledge. I understand that Washington Township, Ohio may investigate the information I have furnished, and I authorize any person, firm, or organization to supply any information about me to Washington Township and I release any such person, firm or organization from any responsibility in disclosing such information. This application is the property of Washington Township, and will remain valid for a period of one year from the date received. I acknowledge that I have provided true and accurate responses to the information requested and that I will immediately supplement any information which I later find to be relevant to or untruthful or inaccurate in the application. I agree to allow, and grant full permission to, Washington Township to interview, photograph, video, and/or record me and my participation in the CFA. I also grant full permission to the Township to use, edit, and/or reuse these images and information. This use may include, but is not limited to, internal presentations, media storytelling, advertising, promotion and outreach, as well as use on the internet and with the news media. I further agree not to use, publish, distribute, and/or release any photograph taken by me, during the CFA, unless the Township has given its prior written approval for me to do so.
