What is your escape plan?
An escape plan need not be a work of art or a time-consuming endeavor to serve its purpose—save lives. Research shows that the minimal amount of time needed to make one, talk about it with your family, and practice it can make the difference between them getting out of your house alive, in the event of a fire, or not. So create a diagram/map of your home, label the rooms, identify two ways out for everyone, and practice it. If your children are old enough, involve them in making their own escape plan.
