Princess and Pirate Mohawk Helmets
For some youth, their bicycle helmet is more than safety gear. It’s a fashion statement or a reflection of their latest infatuation with a cartoon or super hero. If a helmet’s decorative exterior makes a young person more likely to wear their helmet, then hooray for pink, sparkles, and the Raskullz Pirate Mohawk! However, simply placing a fashionable helmet on your head with the chin straps dangling doesn’t protect your head. To serve their purpose, bicycle helmets must be worn level on the head (not tipped back) and with the chin strap tight enough for two fingers to fit between the strap and under the chin. Make sure your child’s helmet fits their head and is adjusted properly so wearing it is comfortable when the chin strap is secured.
