Photographic inventory is helpful in fire or flood

With digital photography, it is now easier and more economical than ever to capture images of your household valuables to establish a record of what you own, should it ever be lost or damaged in a house fire or flood. Grab a camera and walk around your home and garage to record all high-value contents. Once you capture the images, burn them to a CD or print them and store them in a location away from your home. Relatives and safe deposit boxes are great places to store such records. Any additional information such as make, model, carat weight, date purchased, artist, etc. will help the adjuster more accurately calculate your losses.
