Mow high for a stronger lawn

Mowing your lawn a bit taller than you may be used to has many benefits. Taller grass (3.5-5″) does a better job of shading the ground below, which helps prevent weed seeds from germinating and slows water evaporation from the soil, delaying the need to water during droughts. In addition, taller grass tends to have deeper and broader root systems, a real advantage for absorbing water and holding on to soil. So, set your mower level up a notch or two and grow a thicker, more resilient lawn.
