Four paws at the Trustee meeting

During their October 10th meeting, Township Trustees met the  Franklin County Sheriff Department’s eight month old Golden Retriever, Mattis. He is a certified therapy dog who helps Sheriff Deputies do things for which loving dogs like Mattis are well-known –calm children in distress and help them to feel more at ease in difficult situations. An important part of the Sheriff Department’s public outreach program, Mattis makes friends wherever he goes and helps spread the word about the work of the Sheriff’s Department. His next adventure with his handler, Deputy Darrah Metz, will be helping non-native speaking children practice their reading skills. They’ll be reading to Mattis! What a “Paws-ative” way to make friends!
