Don’t jump from the falls!

Shawan Falls, a park just steps from downtown Dublin, is a beautiful place to take a break from the hustle of urban life. The park’s namesake, the falls, attracts people year round. But summer months are the busiest for the park and, believe it or not, the fire department. Broken bones are the most common reason we are called to lift people out of the ravine. It’s an involved rope rescue operation and, for that reason, one for which we train regularly.

Don’t miss the best time of the year–summer— with a debilitating injury. Please comply with the posted rules at all parks. Please don’t jump from the falls.
