Get the scoop on how to reduce your risk of suffering a fall, which can cause injuries that reduce your independence and overall quality of life.

Rebecca Honaker from the Union County Health Department will share strategies you can employ quickly, easily, and economically to reduce your risk of suffering a fall. According to the World Health Organization, falls are the second leading cause of accidental or unintentional injury deaths worldwide. Adults older than 65 years of age suffer the greatest number of fatal falls.

After Ms. Honaker’s lecture, take advantage of a fall-risk screening and talk with paramedics about how they use the Vial of Life medical information form when addressing medical emergencies. You can also get your blood pressure taken and extinguish a virtual fire using our “magic” fire extinguisher. It’s all free. Bring a friend.
