Dublin’s popular event, the Irish Festival, is just around the corner (August 4-6). If you plan to attend, make sure you dress for the hot weather and stay hydrated! There is no substitute for good old-fashioned water to help keep your body temperature regulated. Drink water frequently. Don’t wait until you are thirsty. Many of the medical issues our paramedics treat at this festival are related to dehydration. If you plan to drink alcohol, do so in moderation; do so responsibly, and make sure you also drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration. The Fire Department will staff two first aid tents during the festival.
